Ferris SRS Z2 60 Vanguard EFI
The SRS Z2 60 targets commercial work where a broad cutting swath and a standing operator position fit the route. Its main comparison with the smaller Z1 is more than width: this Vanguard configuration changes the engine, oil system and transmissions. Those differences matter only if the jobs can accommodate the larger machine.
Follow the 5902070 specification column
Ferris's model table identifies 5902070 with a 60-inch iCD+ deck, 28 gross hp Vanguard 810cc EFI engine and Oil Guard. The drive consists of Hydro-Gear ZT-3800 transaxles with fans and oil coolers. Maximum forward travel is 10 mph, and tank capacity is eight gallons.
The page also lists Kawasaki-powered versions. Do not transfer their horsepower or engine details to this mower. Compared with the SRS Z1 48, the Z2's equipment and footprint require a fresh demonstration rather than an assumption that it feels identical with a wider deck.
Understand what the oil system changes
Ferris advertises a 500-hour engine oil-change interval for the Oil Guard system. That is not a 500-hour interval for every filter, lubrication point, inspection or drive-system task. Obtain the engine and mower schedules for the delivered unit and mark each requirement separately.
Our EFI comparison also separates fuel-system equipment from claims about fuel savings. We have not measured consumption, downtime or maintenance savings for this configuration. A service quote and your expected annual hours make the oil-system benefit easier to assess.
Fit the platform and the route
The operator platform uses an adjustable coil-over shock; it is not suspension for all four wheels. Set it for the operator before evaluating the thigh pad and control reach. The hand-operated deck lift provides quarter-inch settings from 1.75 to 5 inches.
The table lists 74 inches with the deflector down and 65 inches raised, plus a dry weight of 1,051 pounds. Check transport, storage and working access with the actual equipment fitted. Compare the Toro GrandStand MULTI FORCE 60 if seasonal attachment capability is part of the purchase brief; do not assume the two platforms support the same implements.
Our buying view: Z2 60 deserves a place on a wide stand-on shortlist when its engine and service arrangement suit the operation. The Ferris warranty has an initial two unlimited-hour machine years, followed by the four-year/500-hour ceiling, with component exceptions. Verify the complete policy and delivered price. Research checked October 15, 2026; productivity and comfort remain untested.
Our ZT Score
8.0/10 — our research-based editorial assessment using the ZeroTurn scoring method.
- Cut quality (30%): 8.1/10. The iCD+ system and quarter-inch settings offer a useful commercial cutting package; comparative finish has not been measured.
- Build & durability (25%): 8.2/10. Serviceable ZT-3800 units with oil coolers and greasable spindles support the equipment assessment, not a lifespan forecast.
- Comfort (20%): 8.1/10. Adjustable platform isolation and thigh support offer comfort potential that depends on operator setup.
- Value (15%): 7.5/10. Oil Guard and EFI may suit high-use service routines, but economic benefit requires quotes and actual service costs.
- Ease of use (10%): 7.8/10. Accessible height adjustment and instrumentation help daily work, while the wide footprint and multiple service schedules need planning.
Provisional research-based editorial assessment of documented equipment. ZeroTurn has not field-tested this configuration or measured cut finish, vibration, fuel use or service life. Reliable model-specific owner consensus and comparable delivered US/Canadian quotes were not established. Value depends on the actual work, complete equipment price and local support.
