Our verdict
Toro Z Master 2000 (52-in)
The Z Master is where Toro stops building homeowner mowers and starts building tools. A 7-gauge TURBO FORCE deck is a different animal from the stamped decks on a TimeCutter, the ZT-3400 hydros are properly commercial, and the frame is fully tubular rather than folded sheet. A suspension seat comes standard, which you notice by hour three. It is dealer-sold and priced accordingly, and 52 inches is a modest cut for the money. If you mow several acres every week and want a Toro that is still working in ten years, buy this rather than a bigger TimeCutter.
