Toro TimeCutter MyRIDE 42 (75747)
The TimeCutter MyRIDE 42 is for a homeowner who wants Toro's suspended operator platform without moving to a wider deck. It differs materially from a basic 42-inch TimeCutter: this configuration combines MyRIDE with an IronForged fabricated deck. The comfort system is the feature to test, rather than assuming the smaller cut makes every part of the mower suitable for tight access.
Follow model 75747
Toro's Canadian listing identifies 75747 with a 22 gross hp, 725cc Kohler engine and dual Hydro-Gear ZT-2100 hydrostatic drive. The 42-inch deck is 10-gauge steel, and maximum forward speed is 7 mph. Smart Speed provides selectable travel ranges without requiring the operator to slow the engine merely to reduce ground speed.
The standard TimeCutter 42 already in our catalog is a different deck, engine and operator-platform package. Do not transfer its specifications to a MyRIDE advertisement simply because the cutting width matches.
Decide whether the platform helps you
Have the dealer adjust MyRIDE and the sliding high-back seat for the intended operator. The seat includes armrests. Try a representative, suitable lawn area at a sensible cutting pace and check reach to the lap bars after the adjustment.
MyRIDE isolates the operator platform; it should not be described as independent wheel suspension. Our suspension comparison explains that distinction. We have not measured ride comfort or a reduction in fatigue for this mower.
Price the options you actually need
The manufacturer table lists an hour meter and foot-operated height-of-cut adjustment as optional. Ask whether each is included in the specific unit's quote and have the normal deck adjustment demonstrated. An attractive advertised price can become less useful if desired equipment was assumed to be standard.
Compare the MyRIDE 50 only after measuring the route and deciding whether extra width would help. Include the discharge arrangement, turns and storage, not just the nominal deck measurement.
Keep the warranty categories separate
Toro's page labels residential machine coverage as three years with unlimited hours. The linked warranty document lists only 30 days for commercial TimeCutter machine use and gives engine coverage separately. References to a commercial engine warranty do not make the whole mower a commercial-duty warranty purchase.
Our buying view: this is a focused option for a residential buyer who wants the MyRIDE format and a smaller deck. Confirm fit, desired options and the applicable terms on the delivered quote. Research checked October 12, 2026. No current local price or field-tested comfort result was established.
Our ZT Score
7.6/10 — our research-based editorial assessment using the ZeroTurn scoring method.
- Cut quality (30%): 7.7/10. IronForged deck gives a documented fabricated cutting assembly, with no measured finish comparison.
- Build & durability (25%): 7.2/10. The deck is substantial but ZT-2100 drive and limited commercial coverage keep this a residential assessment.
- Comfort (20%): 8.2/10. Adjustable MyRIDE platform and armrest seat are meaningful comfort features, pending a personal demonstration.
- Value (15%): 7.2/10. The small-deck comfort package has a clear purpose, while its final value depends on options and the delivered quote.
- Ease of use (10%): 7.7/10. Smart Speed and sliding seat aid setup; optional foot lift and hour meter need to be considered in the purchase.
Provisional research-based editorial assessment of documented equipment, not a hands-on test. Comparative finish, fatigue, fuel consumption and service life have not been measured. Reliable model-specific owner consensus and current delivered US or Canadian dealer quotes were not established. Value depends on the intended work, complete quotation and local service support.
