Mean Green builds commercial electric mowers, and the Rival is its answer to a gas zero-turn that runs all day. A 22 kWh battery gives up to seven hours of continuous mowing, an aluminum chassis and deck cut the weight so the batteries last longer, and power equivalent to a 36 HP engine means it does not feel underpowered the way early electrics did. The battery sits low, which keeps it stable on slopes up to 20 degrees. The catch is the price, which runs well past a gas machine, and a dealer network far thinner than the big brands. For a landscaper going electric who cannot afford to stop and charge mid-day, it is one of the few real options.
