Kioti ZXD61 Diesel

The ZXD61 is a substantial diesel zero-turn for a buyer who wants to evaluate a different engine and driveline arrangement from KIOTI's gas mowers. Its purchase case should begin with the work and the service plan. Diesel power alone does not establish lower operating cost, quieter mowing or longer life.

The configuration being reviewed

KIOTI's model page and US operator manual identify a 24.5 gross hp, 1,233cc three-cylinder diesel and a 2HST transmission. The product description specifies direct-drive transaxles. Maximum forward travel is 11 mph, and fuel capacity is 17.1 US gallons. Neither number is a measured productivity or runtime result.

The 61-inch, side-discharge deck uses 7-gauge fabricated steel. Foot lift and a dial selector cover a published 1-to-5-inch cutting range. During a demonstration, check the settings you actually use and examine the finish before treating extra deck width as a time saving.

Do not use the bare-chassis width for access

The product page lists 59.6 inches as width. The manual's specification table clarifies that this is without the mower deck. It cannot establish clearance for a fully assembled 61-inch mower. Ask for measured width with the deck and discharge equipment in the approved configuration, then check the entire route using our gate-width checklist.

KIOTI also lists a 1,929-pound machine weight. Plan transport using the actual loaded configuration and suitable equipment. Do not infer trailer suitability from cutting width alone.

Compare comfort and support as separate questions

The manufacturer describes a rubber-isolated suspension seat with three inches of travel and an articulating front axle. Adjust the seating position, check control reach and try a representative suitable area. These features do not establish independent wheel suspension or a measured comfort advantage.

Our buying view: investigate ZXD61 when its diesel package and size fit a defined workload. KIOTI's warranty table lists 24 months/unlimited hours for the machine and a separate ZXD powertrain row.
