- +Hydraulic deck lift raises the deck at the touch of a lever
- +Kubota Pro commercial deck with a five-inch cut range
- +Big 12.9-gallon tank for very long days
Worth knowing
- −The hydraulic system is expensive to repair if neglected

- −Priced like a small tractor, and dealer-only
Our verdict
Kubota ZD1211-60
Kubota has built diesel zero-turns for well over a decade, and the ZD1211 is the workhorse of the range. The diesel is the whole point, sipping fuel and never running short of torque in grass that bogs a petrol twin, and a driveshaft turns the deck so there is no long belt to snap mid-job. Hydraulic deck lift and a big tank make long days easier. It rides firmer than a suspension machine, the hydraulics are costly to fix if you skip service, and it is priced like a small tractor. For a groundskeeper or a large property where fuel and uptime are real costs, the diesel maths works.
