John Deere Z760R 60 7Iron PRO
The Z760R 60 combines a commercial engine and deck with several operator adjustments. It is a useful comparison for buyers who want a 60-inch seated mower but need to weigh the cutting package, seat fit and accessory compatibility together.
Specify the 7Iron PRO package
Deere's current product overview lists the Z760R with a 27 hp FX-series engine and a choice of 54- or 60-inch 7Iron PRO decks. This review selects the 60-inch 7Iron PRO configuration. The Canadian feature description identifies the engine as the 852cc FX850V and describes the deck's pressed 7-gauge shell and reinforced spindle housings.
Some rows farther down the Canadian specification table still refer to HC PRO equipment. Do not combine those rows with the current 7Iron package to establish its weight or full width. Have the dealer identify the fitted deck and provide the matching dimensions and manual before ordering.
The ZT-3400 drive, eight-US-gallon tank and published 10 mph forward maximum describe the core package. They do not establish fuel endurance or acceptable cutting pace. The Z735M 60 provides a different Deere engine, drive and deck reference at the same nominal width.
Adjust the operator station before judging it
The 24-inch-back seat has adjustable mechanical vertical suspension, armrests and ComfortGlide fore-aft movement. Check all of these with the seat positioned for the operator. Moving the seat can change how the steering levers and foot controls feel to reach.
The suspension guide helps distinguish movement at the seat from suspension at the wheels. Neither a tall backrest nor a suspension label establishes a measured reduction in vibration or fatigue. Include normal turns and stops in an instructed demonstration rather than assessing comfort only while parked.
Resolve tire and collection choices together
Deere lists optional Michelin X Tweel Turf drive tires. Its collection-system description says the listed material collection system is not compatible with the optional Tweel setup. If collecting clippings is essential, ask for a complete compatible configuration before treating the tire upgrade as an independent choice.
Our airless-versus-pneumatic tire guide covers fitment and installation questions. For a new mower, those questions belong on the original quote alongside the deck, tires and attachments.
Our buying view: shortlist Z760R 60 for its documented 7Iron and FX850V combination and adjustable seating. Confirm the exact regional equipment and four-year/1,200-hour limited coverage. Research checked October 17, 2026; this review does not claim a tested cut or comfort advantage.
Our ZT Score
8.1/10 — our research-based editorial assessment using the ZeroTurn scoring method.
- Cut quality (30%): 8.3/10. The pressed 7Iron PRO deck and reinforcement support the equipment assessment, while actual finish remains untested.
- Build & durability (25%): 8.1/10. FX850V and ZT-3400 drive form a commercial package; no measured longevity comparison is available.
- Comfort (20%): 8.4/10. Vertical seat suspension, fore-aft movement and operator adjustments offer substantial fit options without a measured ride result.
- Value (15%): 7.5/10. Deck and seating features may justify the package when used, conditional on the complete quote and accessory needs.
- Ease of use (10%): 8.0/10. Adjustable foot and steering positions aid fit, but tire/collection compatibility and exact deck identification require care.
Provisional research-based editorial assessment of documented equipment, not a hands-on test. ZeroTurn has not measured cutting finish, ride, fuel consumption or service life. Reliable model-specific owner consensus and comparable delivered US/Canadian quotes were not established. Value depends on the complete equipment price, support and intended work.
