Our verdict

Husqvarna Z560LS 60 EFI

The Husqvarna Z560LS 60 is a commercial option for buyers who want Kawasaki fuel injection and a suspension seat on a ZT-5400 platform. Its exact US product number is 970641001. The LS suffix matters: this is not merely a renamed Z560X 60, and their specifications should not be merged.

Identify what comes with the LS

Husqvarna's US product page lists a Kawasaki FX Series V-twin with fuel injection, rated at 38.5 hp by the engine manufacturer. Hydro-Gear ZT-5400 transmissions provide a maximum forward speed of 12 mph. The tank holds a listed 12 US gallons.

EFI is a system choice, not a measured fuel-saving percentage. The EFI-versus-carburetor guide outlines useful ownership questions, including local service support. We have not established fuel consumption or acres per tank for this machine.

Read the deck column carefully

The LS listing specifies a 60-inch, 10-gauge fabricated deck, greasable aluminum spindles and sixteen height positions spanning approximately 1 to 5 inches. Lift is manual and foot activated.

Those details differ from the Z560X configuration previously reviewed here. A larger advertised engine output does not automatically mean a thicker deck, identical spindle construction or a better finished cut. Compare the actual machines and the work required instead of ranking them by suffix or horsepower alone.

Fit the operator and the transport plan

The premium suspension seat and standard hinged armrests are useful equipment for a long mowing day, but they do not prove personal comfort. Test the adjustment range and pedal reach. The LED fuel gauge gives a convenient indication; it is not a substitute for measuring fuel use if route planning depends on it.

Published dimensions include 74 inches wide with the chute down, 63.75 inches with it up and 81 inches long. Listed weight is 1,325 pounds. Confirm the equipped machine's fit and transport requirements, including any added collection system. The folding ROPS must be used according to the operator instructions.

Check coverage before comparing quotes

The 2026 warranty statement lists Z500 coverage of five years/1,500 hours, with unlimited hours in the first two years. Hydro-Gear transmission coverage is separately listed at two years. Confirm exclusions and regional applicability.

A dealer demonstration should settle operator fit and cut performance. The Z560LS is a credible shortlist candidate when its EFI, drive and seating package suit the route; current delivered prices and comparative running costs remain unverified.

Our ZT Score

7.9/10 — our research-based editorial assessment using the ZeroTurn scoring method.

  • Cut quality (30%): 7.9/10. Fabricated deck and 16 positions support adjustment; actual finish needs a demonstration.
  • Build & durability (25%): 8.2/10. ZT-5400 drive and canister filtration support the commercial package, with no service-life guarantee.
  • Comfort (20%): 8.0/10. Premium suspension seat and hinged armrests offer documented comfort provisions, not a measured ride result.
  • Value (15%): 7.2/10. EFI and suspension can be useful, but matched prices and operating costs are unverified.
  • Ease of use (10%): 7.6/10. Foot lift and fuel gauge are practical; the large footprint and separate component terms add planning.

Provisional research-based editorial assessment, not a hands-on test. Cut finish, ride, fuel use and service life have not been measured. Reliable model-specific owner consensus and comparable delivered US/Canadian prices were not established. Value remains conditional on local support, supplied equipment and the intended work.
