Our verdict

Gravely Pro-Turn 372 Kawasaki FX921V

The Pro-Turn 372 brings a 72-inch X-Factor 3 deck to Gravely's 300 series. Model 992525 pairs it with a 31 hp Kawasaki FX921V and Parker HTJ drive. It is a large-area candidate for a buyer comparing a wide deck with the equipment supplied on the 300 platform, rather than automatically choosing a higher-series machine.

Compare the same cutting width across platforms

The official specification document lists 999cc displacement, an 11-mph forward maximum and a 7-gauge fabricated deck with reinforced spindle locations. The current listing identifies the same 992525 configuration.

Compare it with the Pro-Turn 672 72, whose FX1000 engine, Parker HTG drive and operator-pod suspension form a different package. Both cut a nominal 72-inch strip, but their powertrain and operator area are not equivalent.

Evaluate the seat and deck controls separately

The 372 specification includes a suspension seat with armrests, foot-operated deck lift and dial height selection from one to 5.5 inches in quarter-inch steps. Try pedal reach, seat adjustment and the height dial as a sequence during the demonstration.

Our suspension guide explains why seat suspension and a suspended operator platform address different parts of the machine. We have not measured ride isolation or cutting performance, and do not credit the 372 with the 600-series pod system.

Resolve transport and fuel details before purchase

Check the complete supplied width, trailer payload and securing arrangement with the dealer. The bid sheet's two width labels appear reversed, so this review does not treat either number as a dependable transport dimension. Cutting width alone is insufficient for planning the complete mower's clearance.

Fuel capacity differs between documents: the bid specification lists 12.5 US gallons, while the 300-series operator manual lists 12.7 gallons for the relevant group. Confirm the applicable manual and tank specification for the machine's serial number. Neither figure establishes runtime.

Compare coverage and completed work

The bid specification lists five years/1,250 hours of commercial coverage, with no hour limit during the first two years, and separate limited-lifetime frame and deck-shell provisions. Obtain the full regional statement and engine terms with the quote.

Judge whether the wider deck reduces total work, including areas it cannot reach. Our mowing-time guide explains why maximum speed is not a reliable production estimate. The provisional score recognizes the documented deck, drive and controls while leaving delivered value and working results open.

Our ZT Score

7.9/10 — our research-based editorial assessment using the ZeroTurn scoring method.

  • Cut quality (30%): 8.2/10. Reinforced 72-inch X-Factor 3 deck offers coverage and adjustment; finish untested.
  • Build & durability (25%): 8.2/10. Parker HTJ and commercial construction support the package, not a longevity forecast.
  • Comfort (20%): 7.8/10. Suspension seat and armrests support fit without assuming suspended-pod isolation.
  • Value (15%): 7.3/10. Suitability depends on access, demonstrated benefit and a delivered quote.
  • Ease of use (10%): 7.6/10. Foot lift and dial adjustment help work; footprint and document differences require checking.

Provisional research-based editorial judgement, not a hands-on test. We have not measured cut quality, ride, productivity or service life. Model-specific owner consensus and comparable delivered US/Canadian prices were not established. Value depends on the application, equipment and local support.
