Our verdict

Ferris ISX 3300 (60-in)

The ISX 3300 sits at the top of Ferris's range, and some dealers will tell you it is the best sit-down zero-turn made. The reason is suspension. Where rivals bolt a suspended seat onto a rigid frame, Ferris suspends the whole machine on its ForeFront system, keeping all four wheels tracing the ground for a smoother ride and a more consistent cut. A 40 HP Vanguard EFI engine with a 500-hour oil interval, commercial ZT-5400 drives and a premium reclining seat make it a genuine all-day tool. Suspension parts carry a five-year unlimited-hour warranty. It is expensive and dealer-only. For a professional who values comfort and cut above all, little else compares.
