The ZTXS4 answers the biggest complaint people have about zero-turns, which is that lap bars feel alien and slip on hills. It uses a steering wheel with Synchro-Steer, turning all four wheels so it holds a line on slopes up to 20 degrees where most machines stop at 15. Underneath sits a serviceable ZT-3100 drive and a fabricated AeroForce Max deck, so the cut and the long-term durability are there too. It costs more than a lever-steered Cub Cadet and needs dealer setup. For anyone nervous about switching from a lawn tractor, or mowing genuine slopes, the steering wheel makes this an easy one to recommend.
