Kioti ZXS48 FT730V Stand-On

The ZXS48 is KIOTI's 48-inch stand-on option for someone evaluating a shorter operator layout than a seated zero-turn. It combines a Kawasaki FT730V engine with Hydro-Gear ZT-3400 transaxles and a spring-suspended standing platform. Its suitability depends on access, operator fit and the clipping task, rather than deck width alone.

Identify the current FT730V configuration

The current ZXS48 page and September 2025 brochure identify a 24 gross hp, 726cc FT730V. An older ZXS operator manual labels its engine differently. Use the identification labels on the offered machine and the matching manuals when ordering service parts; do not transfer an engine specification from a different document revision.

The seven-US-gallon fuel tank supplies a carbureted gasoline engine. It is not an EFI configuration. Compared with the seated ZXR48, the standing operator station and drive package create a different purchase decision even though both have a 48-inch cutting width.

Try the platform and deck controls

The brochure lists a spring-suspension platform and a plush bolstered leaning pad. Try the standing position under dealer instruction and assess control reach. A buyer who dislikes standing for the length of their normal task should not assume that a suspension platform resolves that preference.

The fabricated deck uses 10-gauge steel with 7-gauge reinforcement at the edges. Height selection runs from 1.5 to 4.5 inches, using a pin and hand lift with a push-button transport release. Have the dealer demonstrate the adjustment sequence on the actual mower. The optional mulch kit should be specified separately if mulching is part of your normal work.

Check clearance and conflicting details

The website and brochure use different width labels, and a brochure metric conversion does not resolve the chute position. We therefore do not turn the nominal 48-inch deck into a gate-fit promise. Measure the complete machine in its permitted access configuration using the gate-width checklist.

KIOTI's current web specification lists 10.5 mph, while the brochure lists 11 mph. This card follows the current product page; confirm the supplied configuration if travel speed affects your decision. Neither is a measured mowing productivity result.

The warranty overview lists 24 months/unlimited hours for ZXS and separately lists 24-month transaxle coverage. Because that page groups several product and use categories, obtain the full terms for your commercial or residential purchase. Our provisional assessment supports a demonstration of this compact stand-on arrangement, with fit, coverage and delivered price still to be confirmed.
