Our verdict
Husqvarna MZ61
If you want the widest cut for the least money, the MZ61 is hard to argue with. You get a 61-inch fabricated ClearCut deck and commercial Hydro-Gear ZT-3100 transaxles for around six thousand dollars, which is a lot of machine at that price. ROPS is available, the frame is heavy welded steel, and owners with three or four acres consistently report it halving their mowing time. The seat is comfortable but not suspended, so rough ground still gets to you, and 61 inches is far too wide for gates or tight corners. On big, open, mostly flat land, few machines cut this much grass for this little.
