Bobcat ZT6100 EFI 61
The ZT6100 EFI 61 sits between a simple specification upgrade and a much larger flagship purchase. It offers a fuel-injected engine and AirFX cutting system in a commercial package, but the useful buying question is whether those features improve your work enough to justify the complete quote.
Separate the EFI configuration
Bobcat's current North American page lists the 61-inch configuration with a 29.5 hp FX850V EFI, ZT-4400 drive and up to 12 mph forward travel. The manufacturer model sheet identifies the EFI variant as 9996013, distinct from carbureted 9996012, and gives an 852cc displacement.
The ZT6000 52 is a relevant comparison for a smaller cutting path. The ZT7000 61 represents a different engine and drive package. These comparisons are more informative than treating every AirFX-equipped mower as the same configuration.
Evaluate the deck as a system
The documented AirFX package includes an adjustable front lip and a 1–5.5-inch cutting-height range. Ask the dealer to explain the intended setup for your grass and show the result on a representative patch. A proprietary deck name cannot substitute for inspecting the finish and clippings.
The deck-construction guide gives a checklist for separating shell material, blade support, setup and actual results. It is particularly useful when comparing machines with similar advertised cutting widths.
Fuel capacity is not fuel economy
Bobcat specifies a 15-gallon total fuel capacity. That is storage capacity, not a measured runtime or consumption claim, and it should not be read as 15 gallons in each tank. EFI alone does not establish how much fuel this mower will use on your route.
The current specification lists an extra-high-back, full-mechanical suspension seat. Try the adjustment range and control reach. The presence of that seat does not imply independently suspended wheels.
Check coverage before comparing offers
Bobcat's September 2026 mower warranty lists ZT6100 machine coverage at 60 months or 2,000 hours, whichever occurs first. Transaxles have separate 36-month/2,000-hour coverage, and the engine is excluded from that machine warranty. Confirm the document applicable to your purchase date and obtain the engine terms.
Our view: shortlist this EFI configuration for repeated commercial mowing when the AirFX setup, dealer support and controls fit your operation. Obtain a delivered quote with the required accessories; the price fields remain empty because no such quote was verified.
Research checked October 8, 2026. The older model sheet is used for the exact EFI identity, cross-checked against the current North American specifications.
Our ZT Score
8.1/10 — our research-based editorial assessment using the ZeroTurn scoring method.
- Cut quality (30%): 8.4/10. AirFX adjustment and commercial blade-support design offer a credible cutting package, but actual finish is not independently measured here.
- Build & durability (25%): 8.4/10. ZT-4400 drive and welded commercial structure support repeat-use suitability without proving longevity or downtime.
- Comfort (20%): 8.2/10. A full mechanical suspension seat offers useful adjustment; no full chassis suspension or personal ride result is assumed.
- Value (15%): 7.1/10. EFI and the cutting package can be relevant to a working route, but a delivered quote and operating-cost evidence are missing.
- Ease of use (10%): 7.8/10. Deck adjustment and seat access aid setup, while commercial size and component-specific service obligations require planning.
Provisional editorial assessment of the documented configuration, not a hands-on test. We have not established reliable model-specific owner consensus or measured comparative cut quality, comfort or longevity. Value is conditional on a current delivered quote for the same equipment and use. No such US or Canadian dealer quote was verified.
